Reading Your Dashboard: What Those Warning Lights Actually Mean
15 Aug 2026 Walter
Your dashboard is trying to talk to you — most drivers just have not learned the language yet. The check-engine light can mean anything from a loose fuel cap to a serious knock sensor fault, which is why we always recommend a proper diagnostic scan rather than guessing. The oil pressure light is more urgent: stop the car as soon as it is safe and do not keep driving. The battery light usually points to a charging system issue rather than the battery itself. When in doubt, do not ignore a light hoping it turns itself off — bring the car in and let us run a diagnostic before a minor warning becomes a roadside breakdown.
